A Brief History of a Mango Fizz

The Mango Fizz mocktail is a modern creation in the world of mocktails, with its origins stemming from the craft mocktail revival of the early 21st century. Designed by Cotswold Cocktail School infusing a Mango Mocktail fruit tea with fresh juices and ginger beer.

Bursting with tropical notes, led by mouth-watering mango, this luxury mocktail is a ray of sunshine.

Taste and Flavour Profile

The Mango Fizz Mocktail has a kaleidoscope of fruits and flowers:

  • Mango Mocktail fruit tea: This fruit tea offers an intensely tropical fruit aroma and vibrant yellow infusion. A sweet cup with mango, pineapple and tangy notes and tropical fruity mouthfeel.
  • Citrus Zing: Freshly squeezed juices infuses the cocktail with a bright and zesty citrus tang that adds depth through the mango richness.
  • Simple Syrup: Simple syrup (a mixture of sugar and water) adds subtle sweetness to harmonise the flavours.
  • Ginger Beer Zest: The ginger beer infuses the cocktail with a lively, spicy kick, creating a refreshing effervescence and adding layers of ginger's unique earthy and citrusy notes.

Food Pairings

Enhance your Mango Fizz experience with these delicious food pairings:

  • Mexican foods such as nachos, burritos and salsas
  • Cajun foods such as gumbo, jambalaya and  fajitas

Bar Equipment

  • Jigger
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Fine sieve
  • Kettle
  • Hurricane glass
Ingredients
  • 100ml Mango Mocktail fruit tea - 6g Per 100ml
  • 30ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 5ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 5ml simple syrup*
  • Ginger beer top
  • Garnish with a ginger slice

Method

  • Pop the kettle on, measure the Mango Mocktail fruit tea (the tea will absorb some of the water so you'll need to steep 150ml), pour over boiled water, steep for 10 minutes and strain into cocktail shaker.

  • Add the orange juice, lemon juice and simple syrup, add a generous handful of ice and lastly the hot tea (there’s no need to chill the hot tea prior to use as the ice in the shaker will chill quickly whilst being shaken).

  • Vigorously shake until cooled, add ice to a highball glass and strain. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a ginger slice.

*Simple syrup - 1 part sugar to one part water. Gently heat in a pan until sugar has dissolved and allow to cool.
